Upcoming Club Events

  • Summer Pennant Nominations: Close September 13. Contact Neil Taylor on 0467 298 167 or neiltaylor46xx@gmail.com. Competition starts October 10.
  • End of Winter Season Gathering: Saturday, September 19. Junior court games run 10:00 amb12:00 pm, presentations begin at 11:00 am, and the Senior BBQ and social hit starts at noon.
  • 1 Point Slam: Saturday, September 19 at 2:00 pm. A single-point knockout for players turning 12+ by December 31, 2026.
  • Annual Club Tournament: September 26bOctober 4. Nominate via Chris Bagley.
  • Christmas Culture Night: Saturday, December 5 from 6:30 pm. Bring a dish and wear cultural dress you love.

Summer/Winter Pennant Updates

Winter Season Wrap-Up: Matches concluded on August 22 and 29, with Divisions 9, 12 and 14 all making the finals.

bI think the winter season went well. The standout was Daniel King, at such a young age, organising the team, game days and performing well. I canbt speak highly enough. Hebs going to be a great contributor and player in the future. I thank all the captains, who did great jobs in the face of several players becoming unavailable with injuries.b

Menbs Division 5

  • Captain: Ben Byrne
  • Ladder: Strong finish after displacing top-placed Memorial Drive.
  • Highlights: Overcame early losses and availability challenges to finish with an impressive run of wins.
  • Team Spirit: Camaraderie peaked midway through the season.

Menbs Division 7

  • Captain: Tai Nguyen
  • Ladder: 5th place.
  • Highlights: Dylan lifted his UTR to around 7. Tai and Dylanbs doubles pairing won the vast majority of their matches.
  • Team Spirit: A highly competitive season, narrowly missing the top four.

Menbs Division 9

  • Captain: Lee Banh
  • Ladder: Finalists.
  • Highlights: Five consecutive opening wins. Lee and Jamie formed a dominant father-son doubles pair before Jamiebs injury. Lee and Matt later won a thrilling doubles tiebreak.
  • Team Spirit: A well-fought battle and fantastic energy heading into summer.

Menbs Division 12

  • Captain: Chris Bagley
  • Ladder: Finalists.
  • Highlights: Chris Imeson and Chris Bagley claimed a satisfying three-set finals win. Junior fill-in Terry Goh became bThe Terminatorb after a flawless 6-0, 6-0 win.
  • Team Spirit: Outstanding resilience, with juniors stepping up brilliantly.

Menbs Division 14

  • Captain: Daniel King
  • Ladder: Finalists.
  • Highlights: A major achievement for a first-year Junior team playing Senior competition. Daniel won a hard-fought singles final 7-5, 6-4.
  • Team Spirit: The team handled finals pressure with maturity and determination.

Womenbs Division Updates

Great team spirit, new friendships and strong growth throughout the season. We look forward to expanding the womenbs competition footprint this summer.

Program Supervision

Special thanks to Chris Bagley for supervising Greenball and Saturday morning tennis, and to Ben Byrne for running the Friday night Junior competition.

A Heartfelt Thank You

Our deepest gratitude to Garry Byrne for his longstanding commitment to the Junior program. Due to health reasons, Garry is unable to continue in this role, and we wish him all the very best.

Volunteers needed: We are seeking assistance with Junior Coordinator duties. Please contact the committee if you can help.

Pickleball Corner

Weekly Sunday hit: Pickleball runs each Sunday from 8:00b10:00 am with Lee Banh and Jamie Banh. Everyone is welcome, but places are limitedbcheck the Pickle Business Facebook page or contact Lee to register.

Club Operations and Wellness

Club Operations

  • Coaching: Coaches share the upper courts. Lower courts are reserved weekday afternoons from 4:00b6:00 pm.
  • Casual Social Tennis: Available MondaybThursday evenings and Saturday afternoons when matches are not scheduled.

Housekeeping

  • Cleanliness: Please keep clubhouse and court areas free of rubbish. Thank you to Tai Nguyen for keeping the courts tidy.
  • Fundraising: Drinks are available on competition days.
  • Spinfire Ball Machine: Available on Court 5 only. Contact David Siostrom.
  • Club Shirts: Orders are open through David Siostrom.
