Junior Matches

Winter 2020

The season commences 24/25 July and concludes 18/19 September.

Tennis SA has written Rules (conduct of matches) and Regulations (organisation)

In the event of extreme weather (including but not limited to rain or excessive heat) a recorded phone message will be placed on the Tennis SA Weather Phone 8411 1512 by;
  • Friday 4:00 p.m. - Friday Night (Yellow Ball)
  • Saturday 7:00 a.m. - Saturday Morning Split-time 8:15 a.m. commencement
  • Saturday 9:00 a.m. - Saturday Morning Split-time 10:15 a.m. commencement
If not, it is the venue supervisors' responsibility to cancel matches if the courts are unfit for play.

Tennis SA has issued guidelines on the safest way to continue playing tennis within clubs. The Club expects all people (players, spectators, parents, coaches & volunteers) on site to abide by these guidelines.

Summer 2019/20

COVID-19 (novel coronavirus)

20-Mar: The EDTA cancelled all inter-club matches in response to Australian Government advice.

Extract of EDTA Junior Rules 2019/20 Season 8.1 & 8.2 (modified for clarification).
8.1 In the event of extreme weather (including but not limited to rain or excessive heat) a recorded phone message will be placed on the Tennis SA Weather Phone 8411 1512 by:

  • Friday 3:00 p.m. - Friday Night (Yellow Ball),
  • Saturday 7:00 a.m. - Saturday Morning Split-time 8:15am commencement,
  • Saturday 9:00 a.m. - Saturday Morning Split-time 10:15am commencement.

Matches on Friday 25 Oct were cancelled due to rain. Click to view a summary of the actual weather. Put simply, no rain was recorded between 4:30 and 9:00 p.m.

Matches on Friday 1 Nov were cancelled due to rain. Click to view a summary of the actual weather, recorded at Kent Town. Put simply, the rain started in the eastern suburbs at about 8:30 p.m.

Matches on Friday 8 Nov were not cancelled due to rain!

8.2 Matches will be cancelled when the projected forecast maximum temperature for match time (based on Adelaide West Terrace forecast), as issued by the Bureau of Meteorology at www.bom.gov.au, is 36 °C or more. If the said forecast includes a temperature of less than 36 °C then Tennis SA may still also so cancel the said round in the manner set out above.

EDTA Tournament

The EDTA junior tournament was held on November 23, 24 & 25 and replaced a round of matches for that weekend.
